“Oranienbaum sea festival” within the 300th Oranienbaum (Lomonosov) birthday celebration

In September 2011 Oranienbaum will be 300 years old. Attention of Russian and world publicity, federal and regional administration is attracted to this event. Vice-governor of St. Petersburg, M.E. Oseevskij is appointed to be the Head of the Committee on Preparation and Conduction of Jubilee Celebrations.

On the eve of the 300 year jubilee, by the business – community of the City of Lomonosov and public initiative, with the support of Petrodvorzovskij district of St. Petersburg administration, municipal formation: The City of Oranienbaum, Committee on Transport and Transit Policy of the St. Petersburg administration, Committee on Investment and Strategic Projects of the St. Petersburg administration, new city annual holiday was established – “Oranienbaum Sea Festival”, which will take place on the 27th of August 2011.

Main goals of the event are: positioning of Lomonosov (Oranienbaum) as a sea city, promotion of healthy lifestyle, encouraging of yacht and motor sports development on the south coats of the Bay of Finland.

For the first time in the new history of Lomonosov (Oranienbaum), in the water area of the Bay of Finland, in the area of east mole ferry port and Sidorovskij channel, are planned:

• Conduction of sailing competitions in 9m catamaran class (“Orendzh-rejs”) for the Serene Highness Prince A.D. Menshikov prize.
• Demonstrations by water bikers
• New boats and yachts test drives
• Art festival “Water area of art”
• Concert
• and a lot more, offered by a vast program of the holiday.
