“Lenenergo” connected the Hermitage Bridge


The Hermitage Bridge is located on the line of the Palace Embankment between buildings of the Hermitage Theatre and the New Hermitage and connects the 1st and the 2nd Admiralty Islands through the Winter Canal in the central district of St. Petersburg.

In St. Petersburg, there are 93 channels, ducts, canals and rivers with total length of 300 km and about 100 waterways with 800 bridges. Therefore, the safety of river traffic, improvement of maritime and river transport, protection of water engineering and water areas of ports and terminals from the threat of terrorist attacks, as well as the maximum environmental safety, equipment and control of small fleet- these issues are very important and relevant for St.Petersburg.

Monitoring system of analysis and management of boats on the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg is designed to collect information on navigation conditions, locations, and vessel traffic management, provision of data necessary for formation of contractual relationships and transactions with the ship-owners, the control of ships in coastal waters. The project was started in May 2009. It was initiated by the Committee on transport-transit policy of Saint Petersburg. The system includes equipment positioning ships, radio, central control post, video surveillance systems, data transmission and management of vessels.

This system was integrated into an automated information system of security of St. Petersburg, it provides an opportunity to transfer alarm signal in case of emergency to the City Monitoring Service or to the emergency services.

“Lenenergo” has given the Committee on transport-transit policy of Saint-Petersburg an Act of technological connection of the objects into the system of monitoring, analysis and management of fleet on the constant power scheme.
