Deputy Chairman of the Committee A. Bakirey presented the law of Saint Petersburg “On status of state authorities of St. Petersburg in the sphere of railway transport on the territory of St Petersburg” at the meeting of the Government

Deputy Chairman of the Committee A. Bakirey presented the draft law of Saint Petersburg "On status of public authorities of St. Petersburg in the sphere of railway transport on the territory of St. Petersburg".

The law describes giving the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg powers according the Federal law of January 10, 2003 № 17 "On railway transport in the Russian Federation" (laws in the sphere of railway transport, monitoring their performance, etc.).

The jurisdiction of the executive authority includes agreements on railways construction, making suggestions for improving the traffic schedule of trains. Furthermore, in accordance with Article 85 of the Budget Code of the Russian Federation and Article 9 of Law of St. Petersburg “On the budget process in St. Petersburg”, the draft law obliges St. Petersburg to provide subsidies for damages arising from transportation of passengers and their baggage at the suburban traffic in connection with the regulation of tariffs.

The draft Law of St. Petersburg "On status of public authorities of St. Petersburg in the sphere of railway transport on the territory of St. Petersburg" was approved and adopted.
