Deputy Chairman of the Committee participated in a meeting on traffic safety in the office of Presidential Plenipotentiary in the North-West Federal District


August 26, 2010 the Deputy Chairman of the Committee attended the meeting on the implementation of security measures for passenger and cargo transportation by roads and city passenger transport in the North-West Federal District in the office of Presidential Plenipotentiary in the North-West Federal District.

The meeting was held by the Deputy Plenipotentiary of the President in the North-West district A.I.Polukeev. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Transport, Federal Service for Supervision of Transport of the Ministry of Transport, the Government of St. Petersburg, Leningrad and Vologda regions, police department in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, Russian Emergency Ministry, etc. The meeting was held in videoconference with innovative management systems of videoconference. Local confidential communicational points of the federal inspectors were attended by representatives of Novgorod, Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad, Murmansk and Pskov regions and republics of Komi and Karelia.

The main topics of presentations at the meeting were safety of passenger traffic, monitoring the implementation of standards and requirements of the Ministry of Transport and State Auto Control and implementation of the federal target program "Improving road safety in 2006 - 2012 years".

Following the meeting the executive authorities of subjects of the RF within the Northwestern Federal District were recommended to consider the status of implementation of federal target programs to ensure implementation of planned activities of the Integrated Program of public safety in the transport and control of effective spending of the federal budget. Federal Service for Transport Supervision was recommended to prepare and submit draft changes and amendments to several laws relating to the implementation of passenger transport by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
